ZEE KARNEVÁL!

A couple weekends ago we held an "AMERICAN" KARNEVÁL at Rózsa Gyerekház. which means I spent my Saturday making decorations and baked goodies (Pie Pops!). I do enjoy it. :)

Pie Pops!

Let the games begin!

At the "American Carnival" (as it was advertised) all of the kiddies dressed up in their costumes and we played mostly games that involved throwing some object at or through another object. I was a bit worried the kids would get bored of the repetitive games, but I was mistaken. Kids never tire of throwing things.

So many kids, so many costumes. We saw appearances from multiple pirates, knights, fairies, princesses, witches, cowboys, and a DINOSAUR! RAWR! One particular boy, Soma, went through 4 costume changes during the 2 hour carnival. Unfortunately, I did not realize this was happening until I saw costume #3, so I only have Soma the dinosaur and Soma the owl well documented. Just know that there was also Soma the pirate and Soma the cowboy.

Protect us, oh brave Knight!

One of my favorites, Csongi, was a vampire. He wore those painful, plastic, white fangs, and after about an hour we found him sitting alone quietly on the steps. We asked him what was wrong, and he told us he was sad because he couldn't talk with the teeth in. So precious. So dedicated. He bore the pain of the plastic teeth and the loneliness of being silenced for most of the carnival.

It was an exhausting carnival. About 35 kids came, and keeping them entertained and occupied is not easy, especially when the balloon pump decides to break and you spent an hour watching youtube videos the night before trying to learn the craft. Luckily the artist, Lacika, stopped by for an hour of face painting. Three hours later, all the faces of the princesses and knights had been decorated with mustaches and butterflies. Phew.

 American Karnevál success.
